Odessa College has a history of providing fitness and wellness options and opportunities for our students, our employees and the community. The Sports Center serves 7,000 students and 2,000 community members annually. The outdoor track is a popular venue for local sports organizations, families and fitness enthusiasts to walk, run, train and practice; and the college’s annual 30 for 30 Fitness Challenge has encouraged participants world-wide to start the new school year strong – exercising for 30 minutes for 30 days in the month of September. 30 for 30 has served as the genesis for people wanting to start a new fitness routine and commit to a healthy lifestyle.
The college plans to incorporate community health, wellness and fitness into the new, strategic master plan, Vision 2030+. This plan includes campus walking trails, resurfacing the current track with an all-weather synthetic surface and installing artificial turf in the center of the outdoor track. The wellness component of Vision 2030+ will be launched in three phases:
Wrangler Trails | Phase 1
Establish a one-third (1/3) mile walking loop in the heart of the Odessa College Campus including outdoor fitness stations. The loop meets ADA specifications, is accessible from both the north and south parking lots, and will provide a safe, well-lit walking trail for walkers. Wrangler Trails is open today…signs on light poles and on sidewalks will help you find your way!
Pardon Our Dust - Effective May 16, 2022, the Wrangler Trails loop will be temporarily redirected due to upcoming Wood Health Sciences Building construction. The new route of Wrangler Trails is ¼ mile long. Follow signs on light poles, sandwich boards, and sidewalks to help you find your way!

Odessa College Stadium | Phase 2
Resurfacing current track and installation of an artificial turf infield. The resurfaced track will be available to local sports organizations, families and fitness enthusiasts to walk, run, train and practice. These improvements will be integral in re-establishing a nationally competitive track and field program that will attract talented student-athletes from all over the world.Construction will begin on Monday, October 11, 2021 and the track is expected to be closed through the spring of 2023. Wrangler Trails – part 2 | Phase 3

The one mile walking trail is expected to open after the construction of the new, state-of-the-art Wood Health Sciences Building.
